Good day everyone!

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has cancelled the MARGINAL risk of Severe Thunderstorms for parts of the EDWARDS PLATEAU AND RIO GRANDE VALLEY IN TX.

The SPC has designated a MARGINAL risk of Severe Thunderstorms for Friday, across parts of the MIDDLE AND UPPER TEXAS COAST THROUGH THE CENTRAL GULF COAST in the Day 2 Convective Outlook.

SPC DAY 2 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK

Based on the outlook text, and analysis for both this morning, in which the risk had been cancelled, and analysis of Severe Weather data from F5 DATA software, severe weather parameters appear to be dwindling, as opposed to yesterday’s early morning model runs, and this MARGINAL risk could be cancelled as well.

I will not be able to put out a synopsis tomorrow as I work earlier in the a.m., so please use the following graphics to remain up to date if the risk remains.  Remember to refresh this synopsis page to keep information current.

About palmharborforecastcenter

I am a Tropical Forecast meteorologist, providing hurricane forecasts during the Atlantic Hurricane Season. I retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in July of 2001. Meteorology became my passion in high school, and I have continued my educational background in meteorology since 1996, when I undertook the study of Tropical Meteorology. While working toward my degree, I had to unexpectedly withdraw from college due to my oldest sons medical reasons. I do however, meet the educational criteria of the AMS to be recognized as a meteorologist. Studies include, but are not limited to the Navy Aerographers Mate course, Naval METOC meteorology course, Meteorology 2010 Sophomore level course while attending St. Petersburg College, Clearwater, FL., Basic Forecasting course for operational meteorologists from Rapid WX, meteorology institute, a four month meteorological internship, and extensive research on numerous meteorological topics such as the MJO, NAO, satellite imagery interpretation, etc. I have been forecasting Tropical Weather (Tropical Storms and Hurricanes) since 1996, with my main client being three different Coast Guard Commands.

Thankyou mr storm have a good weekend.

  2. Mac says:

We’ve been having thunderstorms since about 4:30AM this morning (Friday) down here in SE Louisiana, nothing severe, and about 3/4 inch of rain so far with radar showing more coming, stretching all the way west to south-central Louisiana. But, we need the rain. This morning’s NWS forecast calling for two more rain events between today and Christmas Eve.

  3. Mike Doll says:

Senior, wanted to take a second to thank you for what you do! I appreciate the time you out into your forecasts and your candid explanations during hurricane season. So merry Christmas and keep your blood pressure in check!!! Looking forward to next years tropical season.
